Symbiotically linked? – AI Max and GEO – Gen Engine Optimisation *Live* Workshop

I could tell you Google Ads is a cockpit. Pilots only.

I could tell you GEO is a dark art.

But I won’t.

It’s a cutting room. An editor cuts trailers from your footage. A critic quotes your best lines.

See it on a live account at our free workshop, Launching your new AI Max campaigns in 2027: Wednesday 14 October, 6:30pm UK, on Zoom.

Or start with the one-minute tracking check at vibestudiomarketing.com/check.

AI Max is like a film editor.

Your website is the footage. Every page is a scene. Every sentence is a line of script.

For more than twenty years, Google Ads played one fixed trailer. You chose the keywords. When someone typed them, your advert showed.

AI Max is a switch inside an ordinary Google Search campaign. Turn it on, and Google hands your footage to an editor who watches every frame. Then:

  1. Search term matching: the editor shows your film to people who describe the film they want, not only people who type its title.
  2. Text customisation: the editor writes a new trailer voice-over for each viewer, using lines from your landing page, adverts and keywords.
  3. Final URL expansion: the editor starts the film at the scene that fits each viewer, not at the opening credits.

The catch: the editor can only cut what you shot. A line with last year’s price in it can end up in an advert, in front of a stranger.

Google’s internal data from 2025 says advertisers who switch AI Max on typically see 14% more conversions at a similar cost per conversion.

The critic watches the same footage.

Ask a critic you trust what to watch this weekend. You get one recommendation, and a line quoted from the film.

That critic is an AI answer: Google’s AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity. Generative Engine Optimisation means writing lines the critic wants to quote.

A 2023 study by researchers at Princeton University and other institutions found the best rewrites raised a source’s visibility in AI answers by up to 40%. Numbers, quotations from named people and cited sources worked best. Keyword stuffing scored below doing nothing at all.

Google says no special optimisation is needed to appear in its AI Overviews. No special effect. Just a clear script.

One film, two audiences.

AI Max and Generative Engine Optimisation are symbiotically linked. Both feed on your website.

  • Your script helps the editor. A page that names the service, the town, the price and the proof gives AI Max sharp lines for matching searches and writing headlines. “Innovative solutions for modern businesses” is out-of-focus footage.
  • The audience’s notes help your script. The search terms report lists the real searches AI Max matched your advert to. Each one is a scene your website should have, and a line the critic can quote.
  • The critic’s review helps the editor. Seer Interactive found that brands cited in Google’s AI Overviews earned 91% more paid clicks than brands that were not. That is a correlation, not proof, but it points the same way.
